WCGT AWARDED WITH GRANT FROM GREEN BAY PACKERS FOUNDATION

Funds to be directed toward Changing Habits for a Greener Community Programming

ree

Waukesha County Green Team (WCGT) has been awarded a grant from the Green Bay Packers Foundation as part of the Foundation’s annual grant cycle.

The grant will be used for updating and incorporating public health impacts into our Outreach Displays used in the Changing Habits for a Greener Community program.

WCGT believes that education is a key component of positive environmental change. Often people simply don’t know the impact of their actions or are overwhelmed to the point of doing nothing. Waukesha County Green Team's Community Outreach Displays are designed to break down complex issues into understandable bites that are easy to enact.

We encourage you to use our Outreach Displays for your groups, organizations, workplace and congregations. To learn more about how to check one out for use, click HERE.

The Green Bay Packers Foundation issues grants each year to nonprofit organizations throughout the state of Wisconsin. This year, the Foundation focused on awarding grants to organizations that will use the funds for programs or projects that address animal welfare, health and wellness, including drug, alcohol and domestic violence, civic and community initiatives and environmental causes.

This year, in its distribution of annual grants, the Foundation awarded $1.5 million to 398 civic and charitable groups throughout the state of Wisconsin. With these disbursements, the Foundation has distributed more than $25.7 million for charitable purposes since it was established in 1986.

All grant applications are reviewed by the Green Bay Packers Foundation Trustees. More information about the Packers Foundation and the annual grants process is available at packers.com/foundation

About Waukesha County Green Team: WCGT is a voluntary organization of Waukesha County residents who care about the environment in which we live and raise our families. We are concerned about the quality of our water, our food, the air we breathe, and preserving the phenomenal natural resources, abundant in our County. We believe that Waukesha County will continue to be a great place to live for years in the future if we continue to educate ourselves on the wise use of our resources and take action to preserve those resources for today and future generations.

About the Green Bay Packers Foundation: The Green Bay Packers Foundation annual grant program is part of Green Bay Packers Give Back, the Packers’ all-encompassing community outreach initiative. Packers Give Back includes the Foundation’s annual and impact grants, appearances by players, alumni, coaches and staff, cash and in-kind donations, community events, Make-A-Wish visits, football outreach and much more. These efforts contribute to a comprehensive Packers charity impact that was in excess of $13 million last year.
