What's Your Water Footprint?

For every 1 ton of product purchased, 71 tons of waste was created to mine, manufacture, store, and transport it to market, including vast amounts of water. Reducing the amount of materials created reduces the amount of waste created and resources needed.

Tips to Reduce Your Consumption

  • Be thoughtful about what is purchased.

  • Consider your true needs and choose products that are designed for durability and a long life.

  • Ask: Can it be reused? Repurposed? Repaired?

  • Consider opportunities to borrow, buy secondhand or to clean, repair, refurbish, re-purpose, or refill to give quality items continued life.
