The City of Brookfield Parks, Recreation and Forestry department is partnering with a citizen-based “Habitat Team” to certify the community as a National Wildlife Federation (NWF) Community Wildlife Habitat. The City needs 250 properties in Brookfield to be certified to achieve this goal. Properties qualify by providing food, water, cover and a place to raise young for wildlife. Most yards easily qualify. You can certify your property, school, church, HOA, etc., with NWF by visiting Backyard Wildlife Habitat and paying a one-time $20 fee.
You can learn more about this program by visiting the NWF website or contact the team with questions, or to volunteer, at BrookfieldNWFTeam@gmail.com. Don't live in Brookfield? You can still certify your home!
