Updates on Two Wisconsin State Bills 


Come and learn about what is included in Wisconsin Bill AB722 with Greener Oconomowoc and Ian Schmitt-Ernst from Wisconsin Conservation Voters on January 16 at Whelan’s Coffee and Ice Cream (163 E. Wisconsin Ave., Oconomowoc) in their 2nd floor Arts and Crafts Room.


In his upcoming presentation, Ian will discuss two bills that are making their way through our state’s legislature. The first bill would support private well owners in knowing what is in their water (AB797). Unlike municipal water services, private well owners are often unaware of containments that may be in their water.  While testing for private wells is available, it is often costly and not done on a routine basis.  A Wisconsin Bill AB797 addresses these issues.  

The second bill would require proposed Data Centers to have accountability for their use of natural resources and impose regulations on their use (ABM722). As…
