About the event

The Environmental Effects of Data Centers

Greener Oconomowoc welcomes Dr. Joseph Piatt, professor of Chemistry and Environmental Science from Carroll College, who will speak on the Environmental Effects of Data Centers.

With growing pressure to build more Data Centers in Wisconsin, citizens are questioning their need for water and power and how that competes with our current power and water supplies. Large volumes of water needed to cool their systems will affect the balance of our ground and surface water use.  Data Centers' electricity demands will likely stress our power grid system and prolong our dependence on fossil fuels.

Join us at 2pm on Friday, February 20 at Books and Company in Oconomowoc.
