FREE Workshops Teach Eco-friendly Methods

Waukesha, WI – Recycling and Solid Waste staff are offering free public workshops in March.  

 

Wednesday, March 19:  Free Home Composting Workshop will be held at Hartland Public Library from 6:30– 7:30 p.m.  This workshop will focus how to create your own compost, how to use it, and about different bin styles to build or buy.  Find out the top 10 reasons to compost and discover the secrets of healthy soil for beautiful lawns.  Everyone leaves this workshop with a composting information wheel and one attendee will win a compost tool!  Call the Hartland Public Library at 262-367-3350 to pre-register.

 

Saturday, March 22:  Free Organic Lawn Care Workshop will be held at Retzer Nature Center from 10– 11 a.m.  Find out the latest approaches and steps to a green and healthy lawn through organic practices that feed the soil and create the best growing medium for the biggest crop in America: the LAWN.  Just in time for spring!  Pre-registration is not necessary.

 

Tuesday, March 25:  Free Green Cleaning Workshop will be held at the Elm Grove Public Library from 7 – 8 p.m.  At this workshop, find out what common household ingredients can be used to keep your home healthy, clean, and safe.  Find out what really works and which products on the market pass as “green.”  Attendees will “Make & Take” a Creamy Soft Scrub to try at home!  Call 262-787-1011 or email theedge@ssndcp.org to pre-register.
